[A+B] are Amy and Beth, Kansas-based multidisciplinary twin artists, working together under the moniker ARTISTSAPLUSB. For over two decades, their twin identity has been the driving force shaping their creative collaboration as they work across disciplines and between [analog & digital] mediums, incorporating [process & research], from [pixel to paper] developing a visual lexicon that combines symbols, language, color and patterns that reflect the inextricable & interconnected nuances of twin experience. Their work contextualizes twinness, exploring themes of reciprocity, interconnectedness, simultaneity, and intersectionality. [A+B] challenge conventional perceptions of twinness by emphasizing its generative and empowering dimensions, viewing their art as a form of resistance and repair – artifacts that chronicle their resilience in persisting together. Their work recognizes the value of difference beyond societal norms, embracing the fluidity and multiplicity of the lived twin experience, celebrating the twin bond as a catalyst for creativity and connection- an incubator for infinite [inquiry & reflection], a wellspring of [discovery & joy]. They were among the first wave of artists invited to participate in Facebook’s Artist in Residence Program in Menlo Park, California, their work is also held in multiple private and public collections. Both artists hold BFAs in Studio Arts from Washburn University and MFAs from Purdue University.
